    Understand your rights and protections under the ESOS Framework at UHE Australia, including written agreements, course delivery, and support services. ESOS FRAMEWORK | REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS All Australian institutes providing courses for international students are required to comply with the Educational Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and National Code of Practice 2018. You are assured of quality education and a high standard of service when you study at UHE. The ESOS framework protects your rights, including your right to: Sign a written agreement with your provider before or as you pay fees, which sets out the services provided, fees payable and information about refunds of course money. You should keep a copy of your written agreement. Get the education for which you have paid. The ESOS framework includes consumer protection that will allow you to receive a refund or to be placed in another course if your provider is unable to teach your course. The ESOS framework protects your right to know: How to use your provider’s student support services. Who the contact officer or officers are for overseas students. If you can apply for course credit; and when your enrolment can be deferred, suspended or canceled. What your provider’s requirements are for satisfactory progress in the courses you study. If attendance will be monitored for those courses. What will happen if you want to change providers. How to use your provider’s complaints and appeals process. The Legislative Framework incorporates the: ESOS Act 2000 ESOS Regulations 2019 The National Code 2018 CONFIRMATION OF ENROLMENT (COE) A COE is issued for the expected duration of studies. This is the time it will take for you to complete your course of study while studying full time. If you are unable to complete your course of study within the duration as stated on your CoE, your visa will only be extended for the following reasons: Compassionate or compelling circumstances eg illness where a medical certificate states that the student was unable to attend classes or where the registered provider was unable to offer a pre-requisite unit; The registered provider implementing its intervention strategy for students who are at risk of not meeting satisfactory course progress; An approved Leave of Absence has been granted. CHANGING PERSONAL DETAILS You must advise UHE of your current address within seven days of arriving in Australia. If there is any other change to your personal details like Name, Phone Number, Personal Email, Emergency Contact during your stay in Australia, you must advise UHE Administration of these changes within seven days.     Return to Course Master Of Engineering Management ENG4014.10 Engineering Quality Management This subject introduces students to the key frameworks and approaches to quality management. By the end of the subject, students are able to identify and apply quality management frameworks and approaches to new contexts and propose appropriate measures to address quality management issues in various contexts. The impact of quality on the role of engineers, generating value through quality, and the philosophies and frameworks of quality management set the foundation for the subject. Key topics include customer, workforce, and process focus, quality management systems, statistical methods and designing for quality, measuring for quality control, and process improvement, including Six Sigma and the DMAIC process. Strategic planning, knowledge management, and criteria for performance excellence are also covered, with insight into ISO 9000, Six Sigma, or Baldrige, and how to lead, build, and sustain performance excellence. Students engage in weekly class discussions and apply their knowledge to worked examples and case studies from both national and international contexts. Assessment tasks also provide students with the opportunity to gain contextualised knowledge relevant to quality management and develop communication and teamwork skills. Individual students assess their own competence using their Portfolio and by setting personal learning goals. Individual students set up a program-based professional portfolio, which is to track and facilitate professional learning and development across all subjects of the MEM program. This is done by self-assessing their competencies at the start of each subject/semester, and setting personal learning goals to work on the development of their skills and competencies, and to be prepared for the real world of work after graduation. Davina McArthur Director Davina McArthur is currently the Strategy Lead at UNSW helping the university to develop their new ten year strategy. Through her professional career, Davina developed knowledge and expertise in the areas of strategy, transformation, program design, delivery and evaluation, and social and public policy. Her career has been built around her deep interest in social impact and change. Each role she has held has involved understanding and enabling social change through improved organisational performance. This has been particularly in education around supporting access and equity. Prior to joining UNSW, Davina worked for over a decade as a management consultant with Nous Group, an internal management consulting firm; as a social and public policy consultant for AECOM; and as the acting program coordinator for the Indigenous Governance Awards with Reconciliation Australia. She was an advisory board member at the Centre for Media Transition (UTS) from 2017 to 2024. Davina has a Masters of Law (Government and Commercial Law) and a Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Commerce (Political Science and International Business), both from the Australian National University. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
