IT5015.10 Data Science Applications

This subject covers a range of cutting-edge concepts and applications of data science. The main objective of this subject is to develop student capabilities to apply the knowledge of data science techniques to solve business problems. Students will critically analyse the value of data-driven decision-making through various applications and discuss the concepts related to data science implementation processes. Techniques related to predictive modelling, fitting data models, overfitting and generalisation, similarity, neighbours and clusters will be discussed with hands-on experience in implementing data science solutions. This subject also discusses the strategic concepts, ethics considerations, managerial aspects and future trends of data science.
