IT5001.10 Introduction to AI and Machine Learning

This subject is structured to cover the basics of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. It introduces students to the theory of Machine Learning, and the practical implementation of algorithms for supervised and unsupervised learning from data, including regression, classification, clustering, and dimension reduction. Students will use Python programming language for the implementation of the relevant AI and Machine Learning algorithms. Basic concepts of neural networks will also be used to solve AI-related problems, including trees versus linear models, nonlinear regression, neural networks, and clustering using factor analysis.
