IT4005.10 IT Project Management

This subject discusses a range of contemporary principles and practices employed by project managers and their teams to deliver technology solutions successfully. It considers the role of project management in IT environments and identifies the role of the managerial control necessary from inception to implementation of an IT project. This subject covers fundamentals of the ten project management body of knowledge (PMBOK) areas and develops students' capacity to recognise various requirements of traditional predictive projects and agile - based adaptive developments. This subject also analyses a range of pressing issues relating to stakeholder management, communication management, quality management, and organisational business environment (including organisational structure0 affecting the authority of project managers . As such, the importance of project management from strategic perspective is acknowledged.
