Bachelor of Information Technology
IT2070 – Architecture of Information Machines
This subject discusses the modern computer systems’ internal structure, operations and the relationship between hardware and software. The content of this subject examines the ground principles of computer architecture using solid engineering fundamentals and quantitative cost/performance tradeoffs. Major components of modern computer systems are investigated. Starting with a basic understanding of computer organization: roles of processors, main memory, and input/output devices, the main areas covered in this subject include the design and operation, floating point and integer units, central processing unit, pipelining, cache memory and virtual memory, and parallel processing from client to cloud.
