IT2060.10 – Artificial Intelligence in Business

This subject develops the core concepts and practical applications of Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on machine learning and deep learning techniques. Students examine AI from both technological and user-based perspectives, considering how systems are designed and how they are applied in real-world contexts. Topics include supervised and unsupervised learning methods such as regression, decision trees, support vector machines, probabilistic classifiers, and clustering, as well as data preprocessing techniques like feature selection and dimensionality reduction. The subject also covers neural networks, convolutional neural networks, and introductory natural language processing for image and text analysis, with ethical and responsible AI design integrated throughout. Through Python-based practical exercises, students develop skills to design, implement, evaluate, and compare AI models for real-world industry problems.
