IT3060 – Data Analytics
This is a subject in Data Analytics for undergraduate IT students. The objective of the subject is to give students a broad overview of the various aspects of data analytics. Students will learn to transform large amounts of data into meaningful information using different techniques and methods such as exploring, scrubbing, modelling, and interpreting data. Throughout the subject, students will be able to apply theoretical and practical techniques in data analytics to different data analytics problems. Towards this, the subject employs R as the primary tool with some use of Weka, Excel, and Matlab. Students are expected to do programming in R and develop a clear understanding of basic data modelling and ideas.
